Possible arrest of Imran Khan;  Tehreek-e-Insaf protests in different cities

Karachi: PTI workers started protests in different cities of the country against the possible arrest of PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Lahore.

PTI workers across the country expressed strong reaction against the police raid on Zaman Park to arrest former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Lahore on Tuesday. Police arrested dozens of protestors in different cities on charges of rioting.

The workers of Tehreek-e-Insaf protested strongly in various cities including Karachi, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Peshawar, shouted slogans against the government and blocked the traffic due to which the citizens faced severe difficulties.

PTI protest at 15 places in Karachi

Protests were held at more than 15 places in Karachi, including Dawood Chowrangi, Kemari, Lyari, Neti Jetty, Hub River Road, Banaras, Board Office in District Central, 4K Chowrangi, Rashid Minhas Road in District East, Sohrab Goth and District South. Due to the protest at Shaheen Complex, Tin Talwar, the citizens returning home from their offices in the evening took to the streets.

Police shelling at Hasan Square

Police arrested more than 30 PTI workers from Five Star, Hasan Square and Kemari. At the location of Five Star, Hassan Square, the police fired tear gas at the workers, which affected the protestors, including women workers.

In Hyderabad, Tehreek-e-Insaf workers staged a dharna at the bypass in front of the Wadhu Wah Gate and set fire to tires, suspending the traffic movement, long queues of vehicles were formed.

Clashes between protesters and police in Peshawar

In Peshawar, PTI workers gathered in front of the Press Club and protested and later left for Assembly Chowk. Demonstrators broke the gate of Red Zone in Peshawar, Assembly Chowk became a battlefield.

Police arrested 15 activists in Islamabad

To stop the protest of PTI, a heavy contingent of Islamabad police reached Faizabad, an armored vehicle was also brought to Faizabad. Islamabad Police says that no one will be allowed to protest, if the protesters try to block the road, they will be arrested.

Islamabad Police says that a case has been registered in Bhara Kahu police station against PTI leaders Hamid Zaman Kayani, Anees Abbasi, Sheikh Liaquat and workers who blocked the road on the orders of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Traffic block coming from Rawalpindi Murree Express Highway

A protest was held at GPO Chowk led by former MNA Sadaqat Abbasi in Murree against the police action at Imran Khan’s residence, PTI protesters blocked the main highway by burning tires.

GT road closure in Gujranwala

In Gujranwala, PTI workers staged dharna at Rahwali GT Road, while in Lucky Marwat, PTI workers blocked the Indus Highway at Gundi Chowk.

In Kamonki too, PTI workers came out on the streets, protesters blocked Lahore and Gujranwala roads for all kinds of traffic.
