The US Air Force general says that there may be a war between the US and China in the next two years.
“I hope I’m proven wrong, but I fear war in 2025,” said Gen. Mike Moneyhane, head of the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command.
General Mike’s views do not reflect Pentagon policy but are evidence of concern among US forces.
He said that during 2024, there will be presidential elections in both the US and Taiwan, in which China will have an opportunity to take military action.
A US Defense Department official said General Mike’s comments did not reflect departmental policy on China.
Recall that Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said earlier this month that he is deeply concerned that China’s increased military activity in the Taiwan Strait is a sign of Beijing’s takeover of Taiwan.
