Kiev: Ukraine claims to have killed 221 Russian soldiers in fresh fighting.
According to foreign media reports, the intensity of the Ukraine-Russia war continues, Ukraine has claimed to have killed more than two hundred Russian soldiers.
The fighting between the two sides continues in Bakhmut, a region of the Russian-controlled city of Donbas, opposing forces are facing each other and the battle for the territory is intensifying. Today is the 383rd day of the Russian attack on Ukraine.
Conflicting claims are also emerging from the two countries. Russia has not commented on the Ukrainian claim, but the Kremlin says that the victory of Bakhmut is a major goal for them.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky says more than 1,100 front-line Russian soldiers have been killed fighting for Bakhmut in the past few days, and about 1,500 Russian soldiers have been injured too badly to fight.
On the other hand, the Ministry of Defense of Russia says that more than 220 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed in 24 hours till Sunday.
Al Jazeera According to Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Koliba, Ukraine will continue to fight in Bakhmut, likening the Russian advance to burglars breaking into someone’s home. Oleksandr Serskyi, the commander of Ukraine’s ground forces, said they needed time to prepare a planned response to Russia, which they would get if they defended Bakhmut.
Meanwhile, the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW) says Russia’s advance on Bakhmut has stalled, and while Russian Wagner Group troops have continued to fight, they have made no progress.
