District administration's decision not to allow PTI to rally in Lahore

Lahore: The district administration refused to allow the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold a rally, while the PTI leadership decided to hold a rally on Sunday anyway on Imran Khan’s announcement.

In his evening address to the nation, Imran Khan announced to take out a rally from Lahore and to lead it himself, appealing to the nation to participate in large numbers. After the announcement of Chairman PTI, a meeting of the party leadership was also held at Zaman Park in which the arrangements and route of the rally were considered.

The district administration refused to allow the PTI to hold the rally, while the PTI also announced that it would take out the rally anyway. According to the sources, the Deputy Commissioner Lahore has not received any written request, while he has contacted the PTI leadership and advised them to organize the rally after a few days in view of the security situation.

The PTI leader said that the Lahore High Court has abolished Section 144, on which the Chairman announced a rally that will definitely take place. The district administration maintained that the high court was respected but security concerns were also important.

Meanwhile, PTI has finalized the two proposed routes of the rally, which will be communicated to the administration and after the permission, the rally will be held on the final route.

In the first route planned by PTI, the rally will start from Zaman Park, reach Allama Iqbal Road and Railway Station, and then pass through Brandeth Road, Bhatti Chowk and end at Data Darbar.

According to the PTI leader, if the first proposed route is not allowed, then they will use the old route, under which the rally will reach Ferozepur Road from Zaman Park and then Data Darbar.

Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders denied the Deputy Commissioner’s contact, while PTI leader and former Federal Minister Hamad Izhar said that the Deputy Commissioner did not contact us, we are preparing for our rally, our rally program It will come out accordingly.

He said that the rally from Brandrath Road, Circular Road, Shah Alam Chowk will end at Lohari Gate Chowk, Urdu Bazar Chowk, Bhati Gate Chowk and Data Darbar Chowk.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Fawad Chaudhry said in reference to the rally that the revolution is at your doorstep, come out from Zul Shah under the leadership of Imran Khan to take your rights for unity and democracy and join your voice against this fascist system.
