Australia: A research study has shown that eating colorful fruits and vegetables in particular can reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

In this regard, experts from the University of South Australia have emphasized that men must use colorful fruits and vegetables in their diet. These fruits and vegetables contain micronutrients that can reduce the risk of prostate cancer. This research has been published in the journal Cancers.

Interestingly, a rainbow of fruits and vegetables can help cancer patients recover faster and can enhance the recovery and positive effects of radiation treatment.

For this, scientists made a comparison between prostate patients and healthy individuals. They looked at the plasma (a component of blood) of both groups and found that prostate cancer patients were deficient in lutein, lysopin, alpha-carotene and selenium, while iron, sulfur and calcium levels were high.

Experts have already reported that if the amount of lysopamine and selenium in the blood plasma is low, the risk of radiation treatment reducing the patient’s DNA. But most importantly, men with lysopamine levels below 0.25 micrograms per milliliter and selenium levels below 120 micrograms per milliliter can increase the risk of prostate cancer many times over.

These important nutrients are commonly found in fruits and vegetables, and that is why eating colorful vegetables and fruits can help prevent the deficiency of these essential nutrients. Lysopine is found in grapes, peaches, tomatoes, melons, watermelons, cranberries, while selenium is abundant in white meat, eggs, and nuts.
