The term of life imprisonment will be till the end of the accused’s life, court decision
The court sentenced the accused of raping a foreign woman to life imprisonment in Islamabad.
Additional Sessions Judge Humayun Dilawar of the Islamabad Local Court pronounced the verdict in the case nine months after the incident, stating that the term of life imprisonment will be till the end of the life of the accused. Public Prosecutor Rana Hassan Abbas prosecuted the case.
The woman had also recorded her statement during the investigation and before the magistrate, while the DNA of the accused was also matched.
The accused who raped the woman, Muhammad Safir, was a guard of a private security company and was on duty at the house of a foreign woman who raped a foreign woman in her house on June 6 last year.
The victim, a foreign woman, is associated with the United Nations subsidiary in Islamabad, which had accused the house’s security guard of rape. According to the Swedish woman, the security guard raped her in the bedroom at night.
