Karachi: Pakistan’s famous actress Mehwish Hayat has warned Apple’s services iTunes and Apple Music about the mistake.
Apple iTunes has featured the popular songs of Pakistani Coke Studio in the ‘Indian Pop’ category.
Sharing screenshots on Twitter, the actress has demanded Apple to remove Pakistani songs from the Indian section.
In these screenshots, it can be seen that Atif Aslam’s famous Afaq naat ‘Tajdaar Haram’ and other songs have been placed in Indian pop.
Just noticed iTunes/Apple music – music portal classifies our Coke Studio Pakistan as “Indian Pop”. Other episodes are ‘Worldwide’ or ‘Asia’ – anything but ‘Pakistani’. Come on @AppleMusic give us this one at least! Coke Studio is a Pakistani success & we deserve to be recognized. pic.twitter.com/Kd3yfrgXkU

Apple has placed songs from Coke Studio Season 8 and Season 14 in the ‘Worldwide’ and ‘Asia’ categories.
Mehwish Hayat has also raised this issue on his tweet and said that the name of Pakistan should have been there but that name was not written.
Putting Apple to shame, he wrote that Coke Studio is Pakistan’s most successful project and we deserve to be recognized by it.
