The United States has issued a warrant for a Russian oil company’s $25 million aircraft.
The United States government has requested and obtained a warrant to seize a Russian aircraft worth $25 million, according to a statement.
The US-made Boeing 737-7JU is alleged to have traveled to Russia from a foreign country in violation of US law and sanctions imposed after Moscow invaded Ukraine in 2022.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York said in a statement that the plane last arrived in the U.S. in 2014, but the U.S. alleges that the plane flew into Russia at least seven times in violation of federal law. It’s flying outside.
Boeing is said to be owned by PJSC Rosneft oil company headquartered in Moscow. It is one of the largest publicly traded oil companies in the world.
