Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Farrukh Habib has claimed that one of his party workers was killed by police violence, while Lahore police said that 2 DSPs and one 11 of their personnel including the SHO were injured.
The condition of one of the injured officers is said to be critical.
Clashes between PTI workers and police continued throughout the day on Canal Road outside Zaman Park Lahore. Police used water cannons and fired tear gas to stop PTI workers from rallying, while PTI The workers responded by attacking with sticks and pelting stones.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib claimed in a media interview that Ali Bilal alias Zal-e-Shah, a worker of our party was killed due to police violence. Zal-e-Shah was a resident of Rajgarh area.
PTI leader Mian Mehmood-ul-Rashid also visited the Services Hospital and took details from the doctors regarding the death of Zal Shah.
On the other hand, police officials say that 11 officers and personnel including 2 DSPs and SHO Hanjarwal were injured due to stone pelting and use of sticks by PTI workers. Among those who were shifted to different hospitals, the condition of one official is critical.
