Government officials are discriminating against relatives and poor, Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro
Karachi: The Sindh High Court directed the concerned officers to sit with the secretary and resolve the issues on the petition against not making 1500 employees from grade 1 to 15 permanent.
A two-member bench headed by Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro heard the petition against non-permanentization of 1500 employees from grades 1 to 15. The court was angry with the Sindh government for not making the contract employees posted in various departments permanent.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that what is the Sindh government doing? Some people are given contract government jobs and some are made permanent. Director Curriculum said that the former director had made wrong recruitments.
Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro remarked that the director must be resting in the AC room now, the poor employees are crying. This is not fair and we will not allow you to be unfair. Here people are committing suicide due to unemployment. Government officials give favors to their relatives and are discriminating against the children of the poor.
Justice Mohammad Iqbal Kalhoro said that every action has a reaction, don’t play with people’s lives. Tell us why they are not being regularized? Those who are hiring regular employees will bring fairies from the sky. Either have a policy for everyone that we will only recruit on contract. He was kept on contract for 3 years, his age has increased, now he is neither here nor there. The court directed the director to sit with the secretary and solve the problem of the petitioners.
The court remarked that if they are not solving their case, then we will issue a decree, then it will be a problem for everyone. The court adjourned the hearing of the application for two weeks.
