Lahore / Shangla:(PNP) Continuing his commitment to humanitarian causes and social welfare, Jahangir Khan Tareen has announced a relief package worth Rs. 15 million for families affected by recent floods in District Shangla, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Jahangir Khan Tareen’s has already helped and provided relief goods to over 75,000 flood effectees across Punjab And KP.
On his instructions, a dedicated team from the Lodhran Pilot Project (LPP) reached the affected region to provide immediate winter relief to those struggling to rebuild their lives. The assistance covered 405 families, who received essential items including mattresses, bedding, quilts, blankets, warm clothing, gas cylinders and stoves to help them face the severe winter conditions.
Tareen said that relief and rehabilitation remain a top priority. “So far, we have been able to reach more than 21,000 flood-hit families across three districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and over 66,000 people in 12 districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab,” he shared, emphasizing his ongoing commitment to long-term recovery efforts.
LPP Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdul Saboor, who oversaw the distribution drive, reaffirmed that the organization would continue to extend every possible support under the guidance of Mr. Tareen. He also expressed gratitude to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Secretary of Forests Nazar Shah, Deputy Commissioner Shangla Fawad Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner Hammad Khan and Assistant Commissioner Puran Muhammad Tauseef for their collaboration and facilitation.
Assistant Commissioner Puran Muhammad Tauseef commended the initiative, noting that the timely provision of winter essentials has brought much-needed comfort to the flood-affected families. “Given the harsh weather conditions, this support was critical. We deeply appreciate Mr. Tareen and the LPP team for standing with our people in this difficult time” he said.
