Karachi: Passport applicants faced a double problem, after the delay, the series of messages received regarding the various stages of passport renewal was also suspended.
According to Express News, two text messages were sent to the applicant’s mobile phone, the first text message related to completion of passport submission process and receipt for printing at data headquarters.
The second message was related to the date of passport being printed and delivered to the concerned office and due to the suspension of messages, the applicant lost information about the processing of his passport.
The delivery of passports is already delayed due to the huge increase in the number of passport applications, the period for delivery of passports with normal and urgent fees has been reduced from 10 days to one month, before the increase in passport applications this period was 5 It lasted for 15 days.
