Wheat worth billions of rupees missing from warehouses of Sindh, 8 food inspectors and supervisors suspended


Alleged corruption of billions of rupees has been revealed in Sindh Food Department, 8 food inspectors and supervisors were suspended after wheat worth billions of rupees disappeared from warehouses.

According to the notification, 13 thousand 965 metric tons of wheat went missing from Benazirabad and 9 thousand 836 metric tons from Nowshero Feroz.

1 thousand 290 metric tons of wheat from Khairpur and 1 thousand 790 metric tons from Larkana could not be traced.

Secretary Food has ordered an inquiry against all the suspended staff, the centers of the suspended officers had a total of 26 thousand metric tonnes of wheat.

The notification added that wheat was reserved for the 2021-22 season.
