After the meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Shia al-Sudani, Lloyd Stan said that the US military is ready to stay here at the request of the Iraqi government.
It should be noted that there are currently 2,500 US military personnel in Iraq who help Iraqi forces fight against ISIS.
