Islamabad police refused to file a case of torture on journalists

The sessions court will decide after hearing the arguments at the next hearing

Despite the passage of eight days, the Islamabad Police is refusing to register a case of torture against journalists in the premises of the Islamabad High Court.

The public prosecutor sought time to submit the reply in the session court of Islamabad today, the court has expressed surprise that the police submitted the reply without signature.

Additional Sessions Judge Tahir Abbas Supra heard the application of the registration case against the involved assistant commissioner and police officials.

The victim journalists Saqib Bashir, Zeeshan Syed, Shah Khalid and Idris Abbasi appeared along with their lawyer Zahid Asif Advocate during the hearing. .

The court inquired which answer is given without signature? The court directed the police that it is a sensitive matter to deal with it quickly, there is no room for further delay in the case and will take a decision after hearing the arguments at the next hearing.

The government lawyer said that an inquiry is also going on in the High Court on the administrative side, in which three people have not joined the inquiry.

Journalist Zeeshan Syed said that on February 28, he requested to register a case against the Assistant Commissioner, he was called for inquiry from the DIG office through WhatsApp, and at 4:48 pm, a notice was received that the investigation should be included at 5 pm, said journalist Ehtsham Kayani. Police always torture journalists.

The judge remarked with a smile that you speak as you are. Journalist Fayyaz Mehmood said, “I hear you say poetry in this matter”

Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal remarked that I will not say this. The court gave a final date of March 11 to SP Complaint Cell and SHO Ramna police station to submit their reply.
