Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ghulam Ali has complained that President Arif Alvi himself announced the date of elections in Punjab.
In a statement, Ghulam Ali said that if the President had called for an agreed date before the announcement, it would have sent a positive message.
He said that the desire was the President, the Chief Election Commissioner and I had also contacted Arif Alvi to give an agreed date.
The Governor says that it is the Election Commission’s job to make arrangements, I will give the proposed date.
He further said that in the context of the court decision, the election will be held on whatever date is available.
Ghulam Ali also said that the Election Commission’s letter to the principal secretary was received at 8 pm, the secretary is on leave, he will come on Monday and open the letter himself.
