The Election Commission of Pakistan has proposed a date for the elections in Punjab.
A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja in which a decision was taken in this regard.
In this regard, according to the Election Commission, the Election Commission of Pakistan has suggested the dates from April 30 to May 7 for the Punjab elections.
The Election Commission says that a letter has been sent to the President in light of the Supreme Court’s decision.
According to the Election Commission, the President is ready to perform his constitutional and legal duties after the date of election.
The Election Commission of Pakistan also says that a letter has also been sent to the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on behalf of the Election Commission.
Earlier in this regard, it was reported that the Election Commission is expected to give a date in the last week of April or in May 2023 to conduct elections in Punjab and KP.
