Muscat: A Salam Air flight from Bangladesh’s Chittagong to Muscat has made an emergency landing at the Nagpur airport in Maharashtra (India).
A Salam Air flight from Chittagong (Chittagong) to Muscat experienced a technical glitch due to a smoke detection alarm in the cargo hold, Salam Air said in a statement.
As a precautionary measure, the flight was diverted to Nagpur airport. Soon after, the emergency and engineering team checked the aircraft and the flight was diverted from Nagpur Airport after no signs of fire were detected.
About 200 passengers and seven crew members were on board the flight departing from Bangladesh. All passengers and crew members are safe.
The statement added that Salam Air apologizes for any inconvenience caused by the delay and wishes to assure that the safety of passengers is its top priority.
