Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Maryam Aurangzeb has declared violence against journalists in Islamabad as unacceptable.
In a statement, Maryam Aurangzeb condemned the mistreatment of journalists by the police outside the court and requested Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah to take notice of the incident.
He said that violence by PTI and police on journalists in the federal capital is highly condemnable, for which I apologize to them.
The PML-N leader further said that he has discussed the matter with Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and requested that the journalists apologize for the incident.
He said that the interior minister should take action as to why the police remained spectators. Instead of stopping the hands of the attackers, those who target the media should be determined.
Maryam Aurangzeb also said that break the gate PTI rioters and beat innocent journalists, it will not work, violence against journalists is regrettable and unacceptable.
He said that journalists do valuable work to inform the public in difficult and difficult situations, it is the responsibility of the police to protect them and facilitate the performance of their duties.
