Oman: An agreement has been reached between Israel and Palestine, according to which Israel will not approve the settlement of any new settlements for the next 6 months.

According to the World News Agency, the agreement also stipulates that there will be no negotiations on the establishment of any new settlement units for four months, while Israel must stop the construction of illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank for six months. Agreed.

At the talks in Jordan, Israeli and Palestinian officials also pledged to implement joint measures to reduce the escalating violence in the country and discussed strategies to deal with potential tensions during Ramadan.

The joint statement released after the talks said that the host country, Jordan, along with Egypt and the United States, called these agreements an important step towards re-establishing and deepening relations between the two sides.

Meanwhile, White House National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan also said in a statement that the United States recognizes the meeting of the Israeli and Palestinian officials and the agreement on the agreement as the starting point of stable peace.

The joint declaration said that Israel and Palestine alike have much to do in the coming weeks and months for a stable and prosperous future, for which the parties also agreed to meet again next month.

However, Hamas condemned the Palestinian Authority’s agreement with Israel, saying that the agreement would prove fruitless. This agreement will not change the situation in the region.

On the other hand, Fatah, the ruling party of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, defended the agreement and said that despite the pain and massacres of the Palestinian people, the decision to participate in the Aqaba meeting is a manifestation of the desire to end the bloodshed.

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smutrich, who also oversees Israeli settlements in the West Bank, quickly said he would not abide by any agreement to freeze settlement construction.

“I don’t know what happened in Jordan, but one thing I know is that the construction and development of the settlements will not stop for a day,” Bezalel Smotrich added.
