A delegation of Executive Directors of Asian Development Bank (ADB) has met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.
According to the statement issued by the Ministry of Finance, in the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar appreciated the role and cooperation of ADB in promoting sustainable development in Pakistan.
According to the statement, in the meeting, the finance minister informed the delegation about the economic situation of the country and the challenges faced and the damage caused by the floods last year.
On the occasion, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said that the government has steered the economy towards stability and growth, taking tough decisions in key sectors including energy to reduce budget and current account deficits and increase revenues.
According to the announcement, the Finance Minister also informed the delegation about the negotiations with the IMF mission.
The ADB delegation appreciated the Finance Minister’s commitment to completing the IMF program and fulfilling international obligations for reforms and policy decisions in key economic sectors.
The delegation also discussed climate financing and environment protection and expressed the support and cooperation of ADB to Pakistan.
