Saudi Arabia has signed an agreement and memorandum of understanding to provide $400 million in humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
This was announced by Saudi Arabia’s foreign ministry on Sunday, following a high-level delegation’s visit to Kiev.
Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan led the Saudi delegation and was received by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the Presidential Palace in Kiev.
Foreign Minister Faisal Bin Farhan also met with his Ukrainian counterpart Dmytro Kaliba and Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak.
They discussed regional and international developments of common interest, including opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation.
According to the Saudi official news agency, a joint cooperation agreement worth 100 million dollars was signed on the basis of humanitarian aid.
In the memorandum of understanding, the determination is reiterated that the Saudi Fund for Development will provide financial support for the supply of oil worth $300 million to Ukraine.
This aid package was announced by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during a telephone conversation with the Ukrainian President in October last year.
