Islamabad: The Supreme Court issued a notice to the Home Ministry on the request to remove Rao Anwar’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
A 3-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ejazul Hassan, heard the request to remove Rao Anwar’s name from the ECL. It has been done, so there is no justification for his name to be in ECL now. Rao Anwar is not even wanted in any other case.
The court adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period while issuing notices to the parties. Rao Anwar’s name was included in the ECL in the Naqeebullah Mehsud murder case. After being acquitted by the trial court, Rao Anwar approached the Supreme Court to remove his name from the ECL.
