28 Pakistanis have been confirmed dead in a boat sinking incident off the coast of Calabria in Italy.
The Pakistani embassy in Rome says that the bodies of 28 Pakistanis on board the boat have been found, 40 Pakistanis were reportedly on board the sinking boat, 12 are missing.
The embassy said it is in contact with Italian authorities and maritime agencies, as well as with the Pakistani community and volunteers in Calabria.
It should be noted that the boat of illegal immigrants going to Italy from Turkey hit a rock in the sea and sank.
According to the information received from Manchester, 45 people died in the sinking of the boat from Turkey to Italy.
According to British media from Manchester, the dead were illegal immigrants and were reported to be from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Somalia.
The British media further says that more than 120 people were on board the boat.
