Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed says that the economic situation of Pakistan is very critical at the moment.
Addressing the ceremony in Peshawar, Chairman FBR Asim Ahmed said that they will try to fill the tax gap in a short period of time and achieve the tax target.
He said that we are facing a shortfall in revenue, we are trying to achieve the annual target, the target of 7.4 trillion has been set this year.
Chairman FBR says that FBR has taken various measures to revive the economy, FBR is fully aware of the current requirements.
Asim Ahmed added that the theme of this year’s World Customs Day is to close the tax gap, steps are being taken to close the tax gap.
He also said that this will be the first year when the direct tax collection will be higher than the indirect tax.
