Federal Minister for Health Abdul Qadir Patel inaugurated the truck art project at Kemari Truck Base for anti-polio awareness.
Director Health Dr. Abdul Hameed Jamani, Additional Director Health Dr. Saqib Shaikh were also present on this occasion.
Addressing the event, Abdul Qadir Patel has said that only 20 polio cases were reported during my ministry. Children up to 15 months of age were affected by polio.
He said that they want to eradicate polio, there is still a lack of awareness, some people and tribes still refuse the vaccine.
Abdul Qadir Patel further said that more than 60 polio volunteers have been martyred, take steps to save children from disability.
He said that the environmental samples have also come negative, all the factories of Ali Muhammad Goth have been sealed, and an FIR has also been registered.
The federal health minister also said that two meetings were held with the pharmaceutical companies.
He said that after Asad Umar’s IMF agreement, the price of everything increased, we reduced the prices by 40 percent.
Abdul Qadir Patel said that steps have been taken to sell medicines under formula name, pharmaceutical companies have said that formula name is long.
Abdul Qadir Patel said that 9th class matric fail people are running medical stores.
Addressing the event, Dr. Shehzad Baig said that anti-polio awareness should be spread at all levels, not a single case of polio has been reported in the country for the past 5 months.
