The Chief Justice of Pakistan took notice of the delay in elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

A 9-member larger bench has been constituted to hear the automatic notice case, which will hear the case tomorrow. The hearing of the automatic notice will be held tomorrow, February 23 at 2 pm.

It should be noted that a 2-member bench of the Supreme Court sent the matter to the Chief Justice for suo motu notice in the Ghulam Mahmood Dogar case on February 16.

Automatic notice was taken on three questions, one of which is that it will be seen in the notice, who has the authority to give the date of the elections?

Second, it will be seen who has to fulfill the constitutional responsibility of holding elections and when?

Thirdly, it will be seen that what is the constitutional responsibility of the federation and the provinces?

According to the Supreme Court, it is the responsibility of the government to conduct elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa according to the constitution.

The Supreme Court says that it will be seen in the automatic notice that what is the constitutional responsibility of the federation and the provinces. It will be seen in the automatic notice that who has to fulfill the constitutional responsibility of conducting elections and when?

According to the Supreme Court, the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assemblies were dissolved on January 14 and 17. According to Article 224-2, elections have to be held within 90 days of the dissolution of the Assembly.

The Supreme Court says that the constitution mandates that elections should be held within 90 days. There have also been requests from the Islamabad High Court Bar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assembly Speakers for the date of the elections.
