Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) declared 722 buildings in other areas of Sindh including 570 in Shahr Quaid as extremely dangerous and uninhabitable.
According to the details, in view of monsoon rains, on the instructions of Director General Abdul Rashid Solangi of Sindh Building Control Authority, the technical committee for dangerous buildings consisting of expert construction engineers has accelerated the survey of dangerous buildings.
In this regard, according to the survey reports, so far 722 buildings, including 570 in Karachi, 81 in Hyderabad region, 60 in Sukkur region, 07 in Mirpurkhas region, and 4 in Larkana region, have been declared dangerous and unusable.
The SBCA declared 722 buildings in Karachi and other regions of Sindh as dangerous and directed them to be evacuated immediately for the sake of protecting precious human lives. Some dangerous buildings in Karachi are also included in the national historical heritage.
In this regard, the SBCA has once again warned the occupants and users of dangerous buildings and especially in view of the expected rains to vacate these buildings immediately for the protection of precious human lives and property because the rain There is a risk of sudden collapse of these buildings due to water leakage and fire due to short circuit.
In this regard, the SBCA has also requested the public on the basis of humanitarianism to report to the office of the SBCA in writing or about any building with structural defects and substandard constructions in dense urban areas. Submit application on website www.sbca.gos.pk.
