Police recovered a total of 550 sacks of chalia from the dumper
Karachi: An attempt to smuggle a bag worth crores of rupees from Balochistan to Karachi was foiled.
Despite the ban on smuggling, it continues through Balochistan. SHO Maripur Kamran Haider arrested an accused while foiling an attempt to smuggle a large consignment of Chalia worth crores of rupees during a raid on a tip-off.
He said that Chalia was being smuggled through Balochistan by hiding it in a dumper along with crushed stone. The police recovered a total of 550 sacks of chalia from the dumper, the value of which is said to be more than 6 crore rupees.
The smuggled chalia was to be smuggled to other areas of the province including Karachi, which was foiled by the police.
