Karachi: In order to provide cheap goods, Karachi Municipality has announced to set up 155 thrift markets.
Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rahman has said during the briefing of the revenue related departments of the Uzma Municipality of Karachi in his office that before Ramadan, thrift markets will be set up in different areas of the city to provide food at x mill price to the citizens.
He said that on the occasion of Ramadan and Eid, consumers should not be burdened with inflation, quality food items should be available at affordable prices in nearby places, the Bureau of Supply and Prices and other related institutions will also be contacted in this regard. Steps will be taken to facilitate and improve savings markets.
Senior Director of Enterprise and Investment Promotion (E&IP) Department Mohammad Salim, Senior Director of Culture and Sports Saif Abbas Hosni were also present on this occasion.
Administrator Karachi Dr. Saifur Rahman is taking recovery briefings from KMC revenue departments on daily basis to review the recovery situation and improve it.
In the briefing presented by the E&IP department on Tuesday, it was stated that 155 bachat bazaars will be set up in different districts of the city, of which 42 bazaars are in Korangi district, 30 bazaars in Malir district, 28 bazaars in Central district, 25 bazaars in Kemari district. , 23 markets are set up in West District, 5 Markets in East District and 2 Markets in South District where large number of citizens come to purchase food items and other necessities of life.
For these markets, permission is obtained from the Bureau of Supply and Prices, the concerned SSP and the area Deputy Commissioner.
Administrator Karachi Dr. Syed Saifur Rahman directed the E&IP Department to take steps to increase the rent of bachat bazaar with the mutual consent of bachat bazaar association and to make every possible effort to ensure that bachat bazaars are set up for the purpose. To achieve those objectives, the citizens get the facility to buy necessities at reasonable prices in a clean environment, the majority of the citizens use these markets and they are close to their residences, so they are also easy to access. Is.
During the briefing of the Department of Culture and Sports, details were given regarding the sports centers and cultural programs managed by the Municipality of Karachi, the increase in sports facilities in KMC Sports Complex and Women’s Sports Complex and the events organized there. While reviewing, Administrator Karachi directed to restore the Landhi Sports Complex and improve the sports facility there.
