Indore: A former pharmacy student in India doused his principal with petrol and set him on fire for not handing over his mark sheet.
According to Indian media, the principal of Indore College in the state of Madhya Pradesh was going out to go home when a young man threw petrol on her and set her on fire. The principal was badly engulfed in fire and ran back to the college in the same condition.
Other teachers and staff of the college somehow doused the fire and shifted 54-year-old principal Vemkita Sharma to the hospital. Doctors say that his condition is critical due to burns up to 90% of his body.
The security guard of the college itself caught the youth who set the principal on fire and handed him over to the police. The youth also got injuries on his hand and chest. The young man was a former student of the pharmacy department of the same college.
Ashutosh Shrivastava, a student, said that since July last year, the principal was delaying giving the mark sheet, on which I got angry.
