Peshawar: A mega scam of robbing women passengers in BRT buses has been revealed.

According to a police report, 15 to 20 mobile phones are stolen from BRT buses on a daily basis in the provincial capital. A women-specific gang has been involved in the disappearance of foreign, valuable mobile phones from female passengers.

The report revealed that mobile phones worth Rs 3 to 4 lakh are missing daily in BRT buses in Peshawar. 22 women commit crimes at more than 10 stations in Peshawar, after which the pictures of the stealing women have been put up at BRT stations for the first time.

Women use fake identity cards in case of arrest. The female gang belongs to Punjab, Nowshera and other areas.

The senior police officer said that in the next phase, all the BRT stations of Peshawar will have pictures of women thieves gang. After being released from jail, the same gang again commits crimes in BRT buses.
