Peshawar: In Khyber Teaching Hospital Peshawar, free orthopedic operations for patients on health cards have been stopped.
Due to the closure of orthopedic operations for a month, the patients are facing severe difficulties, while in Khyber Teaching Hospital, patients are forced to bring expensive equipment from outside in connection with orthopedic operations.
According to the hospital spokesperson, the matter has been taken up with the health facility program for revision of the orthopedic operation package. A preliminary draft has been received from the health facility program, which is under review.
According to the spokesman, due to inflation and dollars, the cost of orthopedic surgery equipment has increased. A new package will be re-contracted after revision, after which operations will be resumed soon.
