Karachi: The Meteorological Department has predicted a heat wave in the city of Quaid from Wednesday to June 1.

According to the latest forecast, the unusual heat wave may continue from Wednesday to June 1, during which sea breezes are likely to remain closed while the mercury may reach 42 degrees.

On Thursday, the temperature may rise by one more degree to record 43 degree Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the districts of Thatta, Badin and Sjawal in rural Sindh will also be affected by the heat wave, the maximum temperature may be recorded between 42 and 44 degrees.

Kokrachchi recorded hot and humid weather on Tuesday, but stronger than normal winds prevailed throughout the day with a maximum speed of 41.6 kmph (23 nautical miles).

According to the heat wave alert issued by the Meteorological Department, the heat wave is expected to continue till June 1 in various districts of rural Sindh.
