Islamabad: Balochistan is in the grip of extreme heat and in some areas the temperature reached 50 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperature was recorded at 50 degrees in Sabi and 48 degrees Celsius in Turbat. Zhob recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees while Chaman recorded 37 degrees.
The meteorological department further said that the maximum temperature was recorded at 35 degrees in Quetta. The city’s daytime temperature is likely to be 4 to 6 degrees Celsius above normal. The temperature in Chaman was 37 degrees. The maximum temperature was recorded at 30 degrees Celsius in Kalat and 27 degrees Celsius in Ziarat.
The maximum temperature recorded in Nokundi was 44 degrees Celsius. Coastal region Jiwani recorded 34 degrees Celsius and Gwadar recorded 36 degrees Celsius.
According to the Department of Meteorology, the weather is likely to remain extremely hot and dry in most of the districts of Balochistan and dusty winds and squalls are likely to prevail in Quetta.
