Islamabad: PTI leader Murad Saeed filed a petition on behalf of Ahsan Iqbal to annul the previous hearings in the defamation case.
PTI leader Murad Saeed, through his lawyer, filed a petition to annul the previous hearings in the defamation case on behalf of League leader Ahsan Iqbal in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad.
In the application filed by Murad Saeed, the lawyer took a stand that on May 15, it was learned that a decision was taken to initiate unilateral court proceedings against Murad Saeed. On April 23, the assistant lawyer was told by the court staff that the next hearing is on June 6. The hearing is supposed to be on June 6, due to which the court proceedings on May 6, May 14 have been missed.
The petition informed the court that after review it was found that the date of hearing had been overwritten. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Ahsan Iqbal recorded the statement of the witness for the first time in 4 years. Ahsan Iqbal’s application was rejected twice due to non-attendance. There was a conspiracy against Murad Saeed, the hearings of May 6 and 14 should be declared void and Ahsan Iqbal should be directed to present evidence again in the presence of my lawyer. An inquiry should be conducted by the court on the tampering of records.
Later, due to the leave of Additional Sessions Judge Hasina Saqlain, the hearing was adjourned till June 4.
