Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Acting Ameer Munim Zafar Khan has said that the billions of rupees defaulted K Electric has left the entire Karachi in darkness.
While holding a news conference at Noor Haq Institute, Munim Zafar Khan said that the whole of Karachi is fed up with the K Electric mafia. The biggest problem of the city is electricity load shedding. Due to K Electric, the city is in the grip of 3 to 8 hours of load shedding.
He said that during the Musharraf era, it was said that K-Electric will provide cheap electricity in Karachi, but all these things proved to be in vain. A large part of the city is in the grip of load shedding and K Electric says that electricity is stolen and bills are not paid.
Munum Zafar said that K Electric was fined 5 crores due to the closure of the feeder. K Electric Sui Southern Gas Company is in default of 177 billion. Cases are being registered against those protesting against load shedding. Stop this cruelty, Jamaat-e-Islami warns not to treat people like this. Electricity bills are loaded with taxes, which we resist.
The Interim Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi said that K Electric will have to correct its Qibla, otherwise see what has happened in Azad Kashmir. PPMQM and K Electric have a nexus. These parties were involved in the sale of K Electric. We demand the government to take K Electric into government custody, to free the people from oppression. K Electric’s license should be revoked.
Munam Zafar announced the Gaza Million March on Shariah Faisal on Sunday, June 2, and said that when the call has been given regarding Gaza, the people of Karachi have come out in large numbers. On June 2, once again, the people of Gaza rise above all differences. Million march will be held on Shariah Faisal on June 2, which will be addressed by Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman.
