Lahore: Tehreek-e-Insaf approached the Lahore High Court to give the date of elections in Punjab.
In the petition filed by PTI in the High Court, the Governor of Punjab has been made a party by the Secretary. The PTI petition, filed through the mediation of Barrister Ali Zafar, has argued that the Governor has to announce the election immediately after the dissolution of the Assembly under the Constitution.
It has been said in the petition that the Governor of Punjab is not announcing the date of the election, which is a violation of the constitution. More than 10 days have passed, yet the date of election has not been announced by the Governor of Punjab. The governor is violating his oath. In the petition, it has been requested that the Lahore High Court should issue instructions to the governor to give the date of election in Punjab.
