2 protesters were killed in the incident of a vehicle running over the ongoing sit-in in favor of Palestine in Islamabad.
Three activists were injured in the incident of a vehicle running over a rally given by Jamaat-e-Islami in favor of Palestine at Islamabad’s D Chowk.
According to the spokesman of Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad, an unknown person ran over a person sitting in the protest in the presence of the police. Two companions were martyred in the incident.
According to the sources, the police took the person in the vehicle into custody and the vehicle has been shifted to Kohsar police station. The identity of the driver has not yet been revealed. During the ongoing Save Gaza sit-in in Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan’s D-chowk, unknown people ran over the protesters sitting on the road at around 2 pm.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that the government and Islamabad police are responsible for this bloodshed. Arrest the planners of the attack on the peaceful sit-in that has been going on for 8 days. Action should be taken on the criminal silence of the police on the spot and the FIR of the attack should be registered and the accused should be arrested. This is not a political sit-in. The purpose of the sit-in is to wake up the government and raise the voice in favor of Palestine.
The funeral prayer of deceased Jamaat-e-Islami worker Roman was performed at D Chowk. The funeral prayer was led by Mushtaq Ahmed, which was attended by a large number of citizens.
