Karachi: The offer of bribe to the police by the smugglers of Chalia became expensive.
According to the spokesperson of District Kemari Police, Mochko Police recovered 3 tons of bark worth Rs 40 lakh from a trailer coming from Balochistan.
During the raid, the accused also offered a bribe to the police and the police seized Rs 16 lakh and registered a case.
The accused had hidden sacks of chalia along with sacks of cement loaded on the truck. During the search, the police recovered 280 sacks of chalia from the truck, the weight of which is said to be 3,360 kg.
Mochko police arrested the four accused Nabi Bakhsh, Yar Khan, Ajab Khan and Baran involved in chalia smuggling.
