Karachi: During the first 5 months of this year, 150 citizens, including children, were kidnapped in different districts of Sindh, while only 40 cases were registered against the kidnappers, but 114 people have been rescued by the police so far.

According to the Sindh Police’s 5-month report of this year, the series of serious incidents of kidnapping of citizens for ransom by the raw material robbers in Sindh has not stopped and the data has been released in the report.

The report revealed that 150 people, including businessmen, children and civilians, have been abducted from 5 districts of Sindh, Sukkur, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Kashmore, out of which 114 civilians have been rescued.

The Sindh Police report has stated that 34 people have not been rescued from the clutches of the kidnappers and 40 cases of kidnapping of citizens have been registered in all the five districts.

According to documents available to Express News, 9 citizens including children were abducted in Sukkur, 28 people were kidnapped in Ghotki, 34 in Shikarpur, 7 in Jacobabad and 70 in Kashmore.

The highest number of kidnapping incidents in the province have been reported in Kashmore, where 70 citizens were kidnapped in just 5 months of this year, while 53 people have been rescued and efforts are being made to rescue 17 citizens.

Kashmore police have registered 16 cases against the kidnapping incidents.

On the second place, 34 citizens were abducted in 5 months of this year in Shikarpur, but 28 have been recovered while 6 citizens have not been recovered so far. Police have registered 14 cases against the kidnappers.

Ghotki district is at the third place where 28 cases of kidnapping of citizens have been reported, after which the police have recovered 28 hostages and registered 7 cases.

8 citizens including children have been kidnapped in Sukkur, of which 3 citizens have been rescued so far while 5 citizens are still waiting for recovery, similarly in Jacobabad 7 citizens have been kidnapped and 2 have been rescued while 5 citizens are still waiting Could not be recovered.
