Instead of music competitions, training programs should be started to develop skills, protestors

Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Constituency Women demanded the immediate cancellation of music competitions in educational institutions of Punjab.

Against the announcement of the Punjab government to hold a music competition for the youth, a protest demonstration was held by the Jamaat-e-Islami Women’s Circle of Central Punjab Province and Lahore Circle in front of Press Club Lahore.

The protestors demanded the government to immediately cancel the music competitions and start training programs to develop talent in their place.

Central Punjab President Rabia Tariq said that the Punjab government should immediately cancel this competition. It is the duty of the government to provide curricular and extra-curricular education, moral training, positive activities, employment schemes and opportunities to teach skills to the youth. And promote the development of the country.

Rabia Tariq emphasized that in Islam, the one who encourages vulgar words and obscene acts is strongly condemned and deserves punishment, organizing music competitions is against Islam and the constitution of Pakistan. It is to increase pressure to stop the competition and make the public aware of the harms of this un-Islamic act.

Uzmi Imran said that Pakistan is an Islamic state. Every anti-Islamic activity in the dear country is arrestable, music competition and encouraging the young generation is not right in any way.
