Quetta: Balochistan government has decided to start the process of purchasing 5 lakh tonnes of wheat from farmers.
A meeting of the Food Department was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Balochistan, in which the wheat procurement policy and plan 2024 was reviewed. On this occasion, in the briefing given by the Food Secretary, it was stated that the measures for purchasing wheat are being finalized.

In the meeting, it was decided to start the wheat procurement process in Balochistan from next Monday.
Chief Minister Balochistan said that 5 lakh tons of wheat will be bought from farmers this year. The cabinet has approved 5 billion rupees for the purchase. He directed the finance department to release two and a half billion rupees on Monday and the remaining two and a half billion rupees should be released this month.

It was decided in the meeting that 13.9 million rupees will be released today for the purchase of bags.
Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said that they want to give relief to farmers. The food department will bring transparency by removing the bad news. Due to past corruptions, the officers of the food department are also reluctant to carry out routine departmental affairs. They will clean the stain of corruption from the food department.
