Heavy rain in different areas of Balochistan including Gwadar, roads were washed away

Flooding in rivers, closure of schools, damage to houses and roads

Heavy rains and strong winds have entered various areas of Balochistan including Gwadar. Since last night, stormy rains with thunder and lightning have created flood situation in Gwadar, Pasni, Jeoni and other areas.

Due to the rains, the rivers in different areas of Gwadar flooded. Water entered residential houses. Low-lying areas were flooded and several roads were washed away.

All the educational institutions and shops and offices were closed in the affected areas due to which business life was suspended. According to the Balochistan Meteorological Department, more than 100 mm of rain has been recorded so far.

Gwadar Development Authority has started rehabilitation work in the city on emergency basis. In the first phase, the process of removing water from inside the houses is being done immediately.
