Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court has issued notices to Secretary Interior, FIA and DG Passport on the request to withdraw the name of Member National Assembly from Faisalabad Rai Hyder Ali from PNIL.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq summoned the Deputy and Assistant Attorney General present in the court to the rostrum and issued a notice and sought their reply on April 25.
Chief Justice Amir Farooq expressed his anger and remarked that why are people’s names being put in such lists? Who makes all these lists, I don’t know who is putting all these names, there is no scope in law for such lists.
The lawyer-petitioner said that my client is an elected MNA from Faisalabad, my client was supposed to go abroad but was stopped at the airport, told that he could not go because the name was in PNIL.
The Assistant Attorney General said that many of the old names have gone, the rest will see which ones are left.
The Chief Justice remarked that many have left and many have not yet left. Look at them. Sometimes they confiscate someone’s passport and sometimes they put their name in the stop list. Don’t do that, giving the date of 25th April. Yes, call the concerned officer and submit a report.
The court issued a notice to the parties and adjourned the hearing till April 25.
