On May 9, the prosecutors of the cases filed a reference against the judge

The court stopped the hearing of all the May 9 tragedy cases

Rawalpindi: The Special Anti-Terrorism Court adjourned the hearing of all 14 cases related to the May 9 tragedy in Rawalpindi district indefinitely.

The four official prosecutors of the cases filed a reference in the High Court, expressing no confidence in the judge.

There has been great progress in the May 9 tragedy cases. All the public prosecutors of the May 9 cases filed a reference in the Rawalpindi High Court bench to transfer the cases from him, distrusting the judge of the hearing court, Malik Ijaz Asif.

He took the position that the judges of the court are from the Rawalpindi Bar, they give relief to the lawyers of the May 9 tragedy and the cases should be transferred from them.

When the reference was filed, the court stopped the hearing of all the May 9 tragedy cases. Due to the suspension of the hearing, the indictment and distribution of challan copies to all the accused, including the founder chairman PTI, was postponed.

When the hearing started, former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, former ministers Shibli Faraz, Shireen Mazari, Sartaj Gul, Raja Basharat, Shehryar Afridi, Rashid Shafiq, Colonel Ajmal Saber and hundreds of accused workers were also present.
