Quetta: According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), 4 people were killed in lightning strikes during rain in Sorab, Pashin and Qila Saifullah districts of Balochistan.
According to the details, heavy rain occurred in nearly two dozen districts of Balochistan, while more heavy rain is predicted in Quetta, Pashin, Mastung and other areas of the province during the next 48 hours.
According to Levies, these deaths were caused by lightning, among the dead are two youths who were killed in Sorab district. Levies said that the bodies were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital.
Apart from this, another person was killed by lightning in the residential area of Pishin. Another man, later identified by Levis as Zahir Shah, died in a similar incident in Qila Saifullah district.
Torrential rain across Balochistan damaged dozens of mud houses in different areas of the province. With more heavy rain forecast, the PDMA issued a high alert across the province.
