Rawalpindi: 25 people died in different traffic accidents in Punjab in 2 days of Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to the spokesperson of Rescue 1122, car and wagon accidents were reported in Faisalabad, High S and wagon accidents in Multan, while thousands of bike accidents were reported in other districts of the province in addition to cars and bikes in Chiniot.
DG Rescue 1122 Dr. Rizwan Naseer expressed concern over the loss of precious human lives in accidents and injuries of around 2,500 people and said that citizens should ensure compliance with traffic rules and safety measures during travel.
According to the spokesman of Rescue 1122, during the first 2 days of Eid-ul-Fitr, 4 thousand 500 accidents were reported across the province, in which 4100 men and 1203 women were victims of accidents.
The highest number of 770 accidents were reported in the provincial capital Lahore. As a result of the accidents, 2545 seriously injured people were shifted to hospital while 2733 people were given first aid on the spot. Apart from this, 4422 motorbike accidents, 219 rickshaw accidents and 496 car accidents were reported. 770 accidents were reported in Lahore, 288 in Faisalabad, 256 in Multan and 245 in Gujranwala.
