Decision to end physical fitness checking on transfer of used vehicles

The office paperwork on the transfer will continue for now

Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to end physical fitness checking on the transfer of used vehicles.

A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon in which Secretary Excise, DG Excise, representatives of Automotive Traders and Importers Association participated.

In the meeting, it was decided to do away with physical fitness checking on the transfer of vehicles, however, the office paperwork will continue for now, which will be considered to be done away with in the future. The meeting also decided to launch software for online transfer of vehicles.

The traders apprised Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon about vehicle registration, physical fitness and other issues, while current and backlog issues of private and commercial vehicles were also discussed.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, while assuring the speedy resolution of the traders’ problems, said that the office paper work on the transfer of vehicles will continue for now, it will also be done away with soon.

He said that due to Red Line BRT, the traders will not face any problem, he has already issued instructions in this regard.
