Islamabad: The Election Commission has issued an order to postpone the Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A written order was issued by a 5-member commission headed by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja.
According to the order of the Election Commission, the elections were postponed due to non-swearing of the newly elected members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The Election Commission postponed the elections using the powers under Article 218 (3) of the Constitution and the Election Act.
